Shell In A Box (or simply shellinabox) is a web-based terminal emulator. shellinabox comes with a built-in web server which enables users to access terminal interface of the local server via JavaScript/CSS enabled web browser without any browser plugin or add-on. shellinabox can export one or more pre-defined or custom services of the local server via AJAX-driven terminal interface. Pre-defined services are default console login and SSH login. By using SSH login service, shellinabox essentially works as a web-based SSH client. shellinabox has built-in SSL/TLS support, which allows one to access the built-in web server via encrypted SSL/TLS sessions.
