Seahorse is an open-source GUI application that allows users to manage and use encryption keys such as PGP keys, SSH keys and passwords in the GNOME desktop. Using Seahorse, one can manage passwords (e.g., add/remove passwords, create password keyrings), create PGP encryption keys, publish public keys to key servers, etc. There are various application-specific Seahorse plugins that integrate Seahorse’s GUI into other GNOME applications (e.g., Nautilus, gedit, Evolution), so that users can use encryption keys within the applications via Seahorse. For example, Nautilus plugin for Seahorse allow users to encrypt/decrypt or digitally sign files within Nautilus file manager.
