MonoDevelop is an open-source IDE primarily designed for Mono/.NET developers. It supports C#, F#, ASP.NET, C/C++, Visual Basic, and several other languages. The IDE itself is written in C#, and available across multiple platforms. Its layout is fully customizable with workspace-specific views, custom key bindings and user-defined add-ins for integrating external tools. It comes with basic IDE features such as project management, source code editor, build/deployment management, Makefile integration, and version control. MonoDevelop also comes with an integrated debugger, ASP.NET support, a built-in GUI designer for building GTK#-based UIs, UNunit integration for writing unit tests, and database manager for creating, managing and querying external databases.
