gcalcli (short for “Google Calendar Command Line Interface”) is a Python application which enables one to access their Google Calendar information from the command line. gcalcli can access upcoming agenda and scheduled events, create/update events, and import events from ICS/vCal invite files into Google Calendar. It needs to go through one-time OAuth2 authentication process to obtain access to one’s Google account. Upon successful authentication, gcalcli can read and write to one’s Google Calendar via Google Calendar API. Desktop notification for upcoming schedules is also available by using notify-send command in the Linux environment.
