Etherpad

Etherpad is a web-based collaborative text editor written in Scala, allowing two or more people to collaboratively edit a text file in real-time. Etherpad can visualize each participant’s changes in different colors in real-time. It also features a separate chatbox which can be used for collaborators to communicate with each other during editing. Other features include document checkpointing and versioning, file merging, auto-saving, history browsing, and more. Etherpad is also available as a JavaScript version called “Etherpad Lite”, which is powered by Node.js. Etherpad Lite has additional features such as support for HTTP APIs, website embedding, etc.
